Thirteen startups, selected from more than 100 proposals, were chosen to participate in the second Spanish edition of the EDP Starter Acceleration Program. This initiative seeks to encourage the creation of startups and the development of innovative projects linked to the energy sector. The first phase of the program took place on Wednesday, May 23rd at the Google Campus in Madrid, where companies presented their innovative business projects.
In the coming weeks, the startups will develop their ideas and prepare a pilot project with the advice of EDP energy professionals, who will guide them and share their 'know how' of the sector.
The selected startups are based in Madrid, Barcelona, León, Zaragoza, Seville, Murcia, Pamplona and Dublin, and their areas of work are varied, from the development of energy efficiency platforms to solutions applied to renewable energies.
The final phase of this program will take place on June 18. The companies will present the results of the work carried out. A professional jury will select the most solid innovative projects, which will have the opportunity to develop a pilot project with EDP. In addition, companies can join EDP Starter, a program open to startups working in EDP's five strategic lines of innovation: clean energy, Smarter Grids, customer-focused solutions, energy storage and digital trends.
The EDP Acceleration Program is an acceleration program for entrepreneurs launched by EDP to promote the development of new products and energy solutions, aimed at ensuring common sustainable development.
