On Saturday, July 28, the VI EDF DesafiOSOmiedo was held in Asturias. It passed through the council of Somiedo, Reserve of the Biosphere, which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary as a Natural Park. The race has the support of Fundación EDP.

In Pola de Somiedo, at 7:00 am, 365 runners took off Ultra Trail EDP fiOSOmiedo, UTDS, through 82 kilometers and 9,450 meters of accumulated altitude. The ultra distance of this race is the first of the Spanish Cup of Ultras of the Spanish Federation of Mountain Sports and Climbing, and it had Juanjo Somohano and Azara García de los Salomones as winners.

Two hours later, at 9:00 am, the 380 runners of EDP's DesafiOSOmiedo, MDS, with 43 kilometers and 5,000 meters of accumulated altitude, started off in the same place. Pablo Villa and Sandra Somohano were the winners of the marathon distance, which premiered the course. The runners of the distance MDS were able to enjoy the top of the highest peak of the council, the Cornón, of 2,187 meters of altitude, milestone also enjoyed by the runners of the long distance.
