The award recognizes the most original initiatives of social nature

The EDP Theater Gran Vía is the first theater capable of measuring people’s energy in order to create a unique shared experience. Applauses, laughs and emotions generated in each show, turn into kilowatts per hour, that EDP gives out to institutions and charity projects. Therefore, the energy company received on Wednesday, June 25, the award to Best Innovation in Branded Content of the Publifestival 2019. The award ceremony was celebrated in the theater Infanta Isabel, in Madrid.

The installation of the EDP Theater Gran Vía, acknowledged in these awards, is based on a microphone network, distributed all around the hall, that captures the audience’s emotions and transforms it into energy. At the end of each show, the companies that give the performance decide to which social project or initiative will EDP be destining that energy. The fist NGO to receive this contribution was “Comunidados”, that works with people with hearing impairments.

Apart from EDP, other awards were given in this edition to the journalist Gloria Serra, the initiative “12 months, 12 causes”, Pablo Alzugaray, the Gospel Choir of Madrid, or the Foundation Isabel Gremio. The Publifestival awards, distributed in several categories, acknowledge these marketing and publicity initiatives that have in common their social nature.
