ENAIRE awards the contract of electricity supply to EDP

The electric energy consumed will have its origins in 100% renewable sources

EDP will be ENAIRE’s supplier of electric energy for the following two years. The energy company has been the contractor of the tender carried out by the entity responsible for the air navigation in Spain, constituted in 2014 after the split of AENA.

 

The contract for the electricity supply, from July 1, 2019, until June 30, 2021, comprehends 100 supply points and an annual consumption of 40 GWh. According to the tender specifications, the amount estimated for the two years of the contract adds up to 9.2 million euros, without taxes.

 

Moreover, the electric energy consumed by ENAIRE during this period will have its origin in 100% renewable or high efficiency cogeneration sources. EDP will hand in the corresponding Guarantees of Electricity’s Origin. This differentiating factor responds to the commitment of both entities with sustainability and environmental respect.

 

Among ENAIRE’s main supply points, are the five control centers – Torrejón, Barcelona, Seville, Palma de Mallorca and las Palmas – and the central services of Madrid.

 

EDP has been ENAIRE’s electric energy supplier since its founding in 2014. This new contract reflects the high-fidelity rate of the energy company’s customers.

 

This operation frames within EDP’s commercial strategy of customers’ acquisition. The company is a model for the great energy consumers all around Spain.
