Deadline to apply for EDP Foundation scholarships open

Students may apply for them between September 4 and 15

95 students from the University of Oviedo will complete their academic training at EDP during the next academic year. The EDP Foundation has opened the call for the scholarship EDP Martín González del Valle, aimed for students from more than 20 specialties. The program is endowed with almost one million euros and is the most relevant in the University of Oviedo.

 

The students who are interested in participating in the program can make their application between September 4 and 15, through the internship app of the University of Oviedo. The degrees - 18 bachelor's and 6 master's degrees - include Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Law and Commerce and Marketing.

 

The program, which becomes 36 years old this course, is framed among the activities promoted by the EDP Foundation in the educational field. It is named after Martín González del Valle, who was president of the energy company between 1987 and 1999, and since then was honorary president of the company and the EDP Foundation until his death in 2015.

 

The Martín González del Valle scholarships, which result from the agreement with the University of Oviedo, are paid and have a maximum duration of ten months. The training period will start in October, with the integration of each student to the assigned work center.

 

The internships are developed in all areas of the company, under the supervision of tutors, who train and help the students. Moreover, they take part in innovation and continuous improvement programs, where they share their ideas and experiences with the rest of the students.

 

Besides of the agreement with the University of Oviedo, the EDP Foundation maintains agreements with other Spanish universities and schools in order to encourage the training of more students in the different installations and work centers that the company owns in other regions.

 

The aim of these scholarships is to encourage the practical formation in EDP of students from the University of Oviedo. It is the most relevant internship plan in the university, as well as one of the most important initiatives that the EDP Foundation carries out. Since its start in 1983, more than 100 people who took part in the program have incorporated the EDP Group staff in Spain.
