The EDP’s Escape Room, the first energy escape room in Spain, has ended after completing 9 000 kilometersand travelling 59 cities. The tour, that began on January 23, ends with success, as its vintage style living room and kitchen were visited by a total of 27 526 people.

EDP launched this action, completely open to the public and free, due to the boom of escape games, consisting of locking a group of players in a room, leaving them to solve enigmas and puzzles in order to try to escape before the time available ran out. More precisely, this house had two rooms, where the cooperation and rapport between the team (from two to six people) were key factors.

Participants were facing a challenge: escaping the energy company that they had “inherited” through different enigmas and riddles. Why this test? According to a study from EDP, 52% of the survey respondents had not chosen the energy company that they had hired in their households, but they had “inherited” it.

The interactive house began its itinerary in Murcia and has ended in Lugo, after touring cities from the Levant, south, center and north of the Peninsula.

Minors were the most “addicted” to EDP’s Escape Room, as they entailed 37% of the total participants. Moreover, 53% of the people visiting the escape room were women. “Both the organization and the fun nature of the activity were crucial to ensure the success of this escape room, that has attained to redefine the concept of the escape room, orienteering it towards the energy world”, affirms Carmen Fernández, director of Marketing, Brand and Communication of EDP Spain.
