EDP will support 10 Asturian entrepreneurs’ initiatives

They will receive a total of 85 000 euros and will be developing in Sobrescobio, Carreño, Somiedo, Ribera de Arriba y Quirós

A new electric mobility concept, the creation of a technology center or a digital platform for the purchase of livestock. These are 3 out of the 10 projects that EDP will be supporting through Entama, a program aimed to promote and consolidate initiatives of Asturian local entrepreneurs in 2020.

The 10 projects, to which EDP will allocate 85 000 euros, will be developing in Sobreescobio, Carrreño, Somiedo, Ribera de Arriba y Quirós. All initiatives are aimed to generate resources and employment in municipalities. The recruitment of local suppliers in the area where the activity will be implemented has also been considered.

Apart from the economic contribution, EDP will also develop actions regarding information and counseling. The projects are the following:

Sobreescobio:

  • Roberto Pládano: technic architecture study and execution of works with local contracting.
  • Rocío Cocina: establishment that commercializes with local products in Rioseco.

Carreño:

  • Esquil Smart: David de la Vega creates Smuber, a new concept of multifunction and multiuse electric mobility. It is a device that may be used to transport a person or a load, like suitcases or bags.
  • Nazca Carbono: project of José Alberto Llana Valdés, aimed to the fixing of carbon fiber components for bicycles.

Somiedo:

  • Zapiens Technology: initiative of Daniel Suárez. Through a training in digital transformation and business development, they will select a candidate for their company, giving preference to local residents, in order to consolidate their technological center in Somiedo.
  • SO-MIEDO: Eva Menéndez, Noelia Prieto and Clara Buergo create this new brand with which they will commercialize local products and of their own manufacture.
  • Nomadish: Alfonso Menéndez launches a touristic operator via web, with which it will offer services of the area of Somiedo, con todo tipo de actividades culturales, lúdicas y deportivas.

Ribera de Arriba:

  • Morán Berries: José Luis Morán and sons will reinforce the production and commercialization of natural and canned blueberries in their planting of Tellego.
  • Tatiana Martínez manages the only business of staple food products, that will be distributed in rural areas, thought mainly for the elderly.

Quirós:

  • Vaca-Pop: David Rodríguez, Marcos Flórez and Alfonso Maestro have created a digital platform for farmers, where they can buy and sell beef cattle. Among other functions, it includes certifications and ease logistics.

 

These entrepreneurs will have the possibility of expanding this cooperation in 2021, depending on the development achieved by their projects.
