Wednesday 10, June 2020

The company’s candidacy stood out because of the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals in its organization.

EDP won the Carlos Canales-CEX award for best management practices, convened by the Quality Club in its twelfth edition, in which the practice related with the “Integration of the SDG in organization” was valued.

The winner candidacy, named “Sustainability Plan 2020-2022 and ambition to 2030” exposes EDP’s commitment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and the Agenda 2030 from the beginning of the initiative and shows how these goals have been prioritized and integrated in the organization’s strategy.

Moreover, the University of Oviedo has been selected as finalist for the award with its candidacy “Memories of Social Responsibility: Commitments, Actions and Indicators”.

Both organizations, winner and finalist, will be competing as Asturian candidates in the CEX Award nationwide.

The Carlos Canales-CEX award is an initiative of the Board of Directors of the Asturian Quality Club, as a tribute and recognition to Carlos Canales Pérez, who was part of this board as a representative of Lloyd’s Register, from the founding of the Club in 1995, until 2008, and contributed decisively to the development of this organization, as well as to the spreading and establishment of the Quality in Management in the Principality of Asturias, during its long and productive work life.

The goal of this initiative is to contribute to the exchange of good management practices among organizations in general, as well as recognizing, encouraging and boosting Good Management Practices developed by partners of the Quality Club.

This award is coordinated with the national announcement of the CEX Award, so that the winner and finalist of the Carlos Canales award will automatically be designated as Asturian’s representatives in the CEX Award.
