More than 29 million consumers in Spain will have, from today, information on their electricity consumption at their disposal through DATADIS (www.datadis.es), an additional, transparent digital channel and common, created by all the Spanish electricity distribution companies, integrated in the associations Aelec, Aseme and Cide.

DATADIS was born as a digital solution that allows free, safe and neutral access for each consumer to their electricity consumption data. For the first time, a user will be able to access information on their electricity consumption through a common channel, even if they have more than one supply point and these belong to different distributors. This is possible thanks to the fact that DATADIS works as a data gateway that accesses the databases of the distribution companies, showing the information stored in them, avoiding the duplication of data and complying with the requirements of the regulation.

This joint initiative of all the country's distribution companies aims to open a digital channel, in addition to the one currently offered by companies, so that customers can have access to their data, both on electricity consumption and contracted power, from a simple, safe way and without additional costs.

DATADIS offers two types of information:

• PRIVATE consumption information: the user can have access to their consumption data at all supply points. These data are the property of the consumer and they can manage them and, soon, they will have the option to determine if they give access to third parties through this same platform (marketers, energy consultants, etc.).

• Statistical AGGREGATE information, publicly accessible, which will allow obtaining information of general interest through a series of predetermined monthly reports or through consultations in greater detail.

Through DATADIS, all consumers will have common access, regardless of their distribution area, and will be able to review their consumption "through a single click", which will allow them to:

• Improve your energy management, be able to make savings decisions on your bill and facilitate the application of energy efficiency measures.

• Have information easily and free of charge, through a single platform, regardless of who your distributor is. A perfect solution for multi-point or multi-distributor users who want to view consumption data from all supply points in Spain on the same platform.

• Authorize access to marketers and other market agents, with prior and duly accredited consent, to view their consumption data, facilitating new business models and invigorating the retail market (this function is currently completing its development and will be available in the next days).

• A universal, neutral, objective and transparent access to their own consumption data, guaranteeing their security.

DATADIS is the result of the commitment to innovation and digitalization that electricity distributors have made in recent years, especially after the global implementation of smart meters in homes, which has allowed consumers to access detailed data on their electricity consumption. The energy transition process gives the consumer a much more decisive role and the distribution networks are going to become the key lever of the new paradigm of the electricity system, acting as neutral facilitators of the information that the consumer requires to manage their electricity consumption.
