Both companies agree to deploy twenty 22 kW electric vehicle charging points in eleven shops in the region.

masymas (Hijos de Luis Rodríguez), a family-owned supermarket and FMCG distribution company, has reached an agreement with EDP for the installation of 20 recharging points located in eleven car parks of masymas establishments in Asturias. These charging points will be owned by EDP, which will be responsible for their installation, operation and support.

The masymas charging infrastructure will consist of 22 operational charging points, including the two that the company has installed in Candás. All of them with a power of 22 kW. This supermarket, a pioneer in the commitment to sustainable mobility, also has photovoltaic panels installed on the roof of the shop, as well as five other masymas establishments, whose commitment to self-consumption in Asturias totals more than 1 MWp.

Pelayo Pulgar, Director of Expansion and Development at Masymas, indicated that this action "is part of our strategic sustainability plan. For our company, environmental protection is one of our priorities, together with our commitment to sustainable development and energy efficiency".

For his part, Javier Martínez Ríos, EDP's Sustainable Mobility Director, highlighted that "thanks to the agreement with masymas (Hijos de Luis Rodríguez), EDP will increase its charging network in Asturias and will also guarantee a convenience charging option, that is to say, those who have a plug-in vehicle will be able to charge their vehicle while shopping".

With the arrival of Royal Decree Law 29/2021, by 1 January 2023, non-residential buildings with a car park with more than 20 parking spaces will be required to have a charging station for every 40 parking spaces.

EDP continues to expand its infrastructure network of electric recharging points in different parts of Spain, demonstrating its firm commitment to continue increasing this infrastructure network. The recharging points are added to EDP Move On, an innovative application that allows the use of recharging facilities to be managed easily and quickly.
