The world conference “We Choose Earth Tour”, organized by EDP, has brought together in the Gran Vía of Madrid some of the most influential voices and critics in the battle against climate change and the environment’s protection.

Amal Clooney, Adam Grant, Céline Cousteau, Peter Frankopan or Sophia Kianni have been some of the most renowned faces to star in the event “We Choose Earth”. High level talks, discussions and musical performances, from Macaco, Stay Homas and the Reina Sofía Superior School of Music have been part of this unique event.

During the meetings, the speakers have given important keys that will be determinant in the agenda for the battle against climate change, as well as for the energy transition and the planet’s future:

• Miguel Stilwell d’Andrade – EDP Chief Executive Officer

“It is important to do something, it is urgent to take a stand. We want to raise awareness and be coherent with it: that is what is really difficult. And it requires us all to be active, to take a step forward for these challenges, in a cooperative effort. It is not only about the governments; it is also important for all of us, at an individual level and in the role that each has, to take the needed steps and to think consciously about those steps, in order to make a difference. This is something that really interests EDP: We want things to change, we want the production of renewable energies to increase. We think that energy transition can be accelerated.”

The goals of this event organized by EDP have been to generate a greater debate, from a quantitative point of view, but especially from a qualitative one; to deepen in the social inequality challenges set out by climate change; and to collaborate with the organizations that work in the fields of energy transition, and social and environmental impact.

This event as brought hundreds of people together in Madrid, who wanted to be present in this unavoidable date for the planet’s future. Moreover, all the earnings obtained from the tickets’ sales have already been allocated to Ecodes, Ecomar and La España Azul, three entities that work and support a transition towards a greener future, better for the planet and for the people.
