The 15th edition of the EDP Vitoria-Gasteiz Marathon Martin Fiz will be a great party

Tuesday 11, April 2017

The EDP Vitoria-Gasteiz Marathon Martin Fiz is already on. The 15th edition of the race, that will take place the following May 14, has been presented this morning in the Villasuso Palace of Vitoria-Gasteiz. More than 5 000 people will go through the city to enjoy one of the main races in the running calendar.

The presentation was attended by Gorka Urtaran, mayor of Vitoria-Gasteiz; Igone Martínez de Luna, representative of Euskera, Culture and Sport; Aitor Morell, director of the race; the athlete Martin Fiz, as technic director; and Javier Sáenz de Jubera, EDP’s director-general manager. EDP’s representative has shown satisfaction with the participation of the energy company in this event, as he “has a special liking” for the city in which it is celebrated, and for the image of Martin Fiz.

The race has different modalities and distances: marathon, half marathon, 10 kilometers, marathon in skates, 10 k Roller and children’s race (marathon txiki). As a novelty, and for greater security of all participants, the race in skates will have a different starting time. The starting point will be the street Los Herrán and the finishing line will be located in the street Dato, in the city center.

Among the novelties it is also to highlight the “Breakfast Run with Martin Fiz”, that will take place on Saturday, May 13, at 10:00. It is a light training with the world’s champion Martin Fiz, joined by a healthy breakfast and a talk under the title “Genetics applied to Running: what is it and what is it for”.

EDP Vitoria-Gasteiz Marathon Martin Fiz stands out, specially, because of its urban circuit, plain and approved, that goes over the main streets of the Basque capital and European Green Capital.

EDP will be the official energy of the race. The company has raffled race bibs among its current clients and keeps active the promotion through which those who change their energy contract to EDP get a refund for the costs of the race bibs. All information is available on http://www.edpmaratones.es
