These data are reflected in the report of the National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC) on the evolution of the retail market in 2017. This report also reflects the company's share in the free market, which reaches 13% in gas and 5% in electricity.

This important growth is due, above all, to the company's commercial strategy in areas of expansion, such as the Community of Madrid, Galicia and Andalusia. In total, EDP added 65,169 new customers in Spain. The growth of the portfolio is stable, quarter by quarter, as reflected in the report of the CNMC, which reflects the high rate of customer loyalty, over 80%.

Both markets also experienced an increase in the number of supplies compared to the last quarter of 2016. The electricity sector went from 29,085,975 to 29,269,244 supplies, while the gas sector went from 7,704,227 to 7,809,088.

The CNMC report also includes the total balance from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018. According to this registry, EDP is the only one of the main marketers that maintains constant growth both throughout the year and in each of the four quarters.

The growth of EDP responds to the commercial strategy that the company develops in Spain, offering consumers different energy solutions.

In addition, and within the joint offers, EDP is the only one of the large marketers that offers 100% renewable electricity to all its domestic customers, a differentiating factor that is managed through the Guarantee System of Origin of Electricity ofthe CNMC.

In terms of value-added services, the company also has the most competitive offer. Funciona, the only dual maintenance service in the market, available formore than 10 years now, aims at maintaininginstallations and appliances of gas and electricity of every home. EDP reaches almost 600,000 Funcionaservice contracts in Spain.
