The 37th edition of the EDP City of Granada Half Marathon will be held on Saturday, April 27, and it will be sponsored by EDP. The race will maintain all the incentives that in the past two years, according to its organizers, have allowed the trial to become the “most beautiful half marathon in the world”. During the race’s presentation at the Restaurant Juan Ranas in the middle of San Nicolás viewpoint, the mayor of Granada, Francisco Cuenca, thanked the energy company for its support, since it is the main sponsor and it will name the trial, and he said that “it will be the positive energy in the race”.

Bruno Fernández, EDP sales manager in Andalusia, claimed that “we want to thank society for how much it gives us, and this is one way of doing it. EDP is already present in 30 races all over Spain, and four of them are held in Andalusia”.

Participating in this race means being able to run across the Albaycín neighborhood and the Alhambra. The athletes will run across La Puerta de las Pesas, San Nicolás viewpoint, La Carrera del Darro, and through La Puerta de las Granadas to enter the heart of the Alhambra woods. The start is set at 19.30 on April 27, so that the runners go through the Albayzín and the Alhambra during the sunset.

Participants of race will be Fermín Cacho, Olympic and European champion and world’s silver medal of 1,500; Martín Fiz, world and European marathon champion and winner of the Príncipe de Asturias Award for Sports, in addition to ambassador of EDP’s Share your Energy; and Abel Antón, world and European champion and winner of the Príncipe de Asturias Award for Sports.

The EDP Granada Half Marathon will have a maximum of 4,500 participants this year. The enrollments are open until Sunday, April 17, and both EDP existing and new customers can benefit from exclusive runner promotions at www.edpmaratones.es
