EDP is ahead of the regulations by paying its solar installation customers for the surplus energy generated

Thursday 05, December 2019

EDP will make a discount of the estimated energy that is generated but not consumed. With this discount and the saving due to self-consumption, the customer may reduce the bill by a 70%

Customers that are hiring a solar installation for self-consumption with EDP in their households, will have an additional discount in their bill. EDP will bonify them, since day one, because of the electric energy that they generate but do not consume.

EDP goes thus ahead of the future legislation that will regulate the compensation of that surplus and offers therefore since day one an additional saving to their customers for the energy that they pour to the net.

This promotion will be extended during 2020, until the implementation of said legislation. From that moment on, they will receive the amount of the savings obtained as a discount in the bills of the photovoltaic installation.

A client with an electricity bill of 1 000€ a year may save 552€ with a solar installation type of 4 kilowatts peak.

EDP offers photovoltaic solutions for self-consumption adapted to the needs of each customer. It develops turnkey integral projects with the last technology of the market, to which it is summed a complete service of maintenance of the installation, free during the first year. Among the advantages one may find the management of permits and licenses, and the request of possible subsidies. The company also offers a personalized fund.

In order to have a solar installation in households, the first step is to make a consultancy through EDP’s solar calculator, www.edpenergia.es/solar, that simulates the best scenario for each customer’s performance.
