The Soto de Ribera Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) is located in the municipality of Ribera de Arriba (Asturias), downstream from the confluence of the rivers Nalon and Caudal. It is about 7 km from Oviedo, and the ground level is located at an elevation of 126.5 m. above sea level

It currently consists of two combined cycle sets, Soto 4 and Soto5, using natural gas as the main fuel, with a net capacity of 426,04 and 428,13 MW respectively.

The first set of the Soto de Ribera Combined Cycle Power Plant (Soto 4) began operations in November 2008, being the first unit of its kind to enter commercial operation in the Principality of Asturias. In 2010 was put into operation the second combined cycle set (Soto 5).
