Gijón holds the second edition of the “E-Go by EDP”

Wednesday 29, May 2019

The event will take place on June 7, 8 and 9, with up to 7 vehicles available to be tried

Next week, the Plaza del Marqués of Gijón will be hosting the second edition of the “Roadshow Electric-Go by EDP”. On June 7, 8 and 9, people that wish to, may try up to 7 electric vehicles for free, and get to know the latest novelties about electric mobility. The event is organized by U Events and counts with EDP’s sponsorship.

The activity will begin on Friday at 16.30. On Saturday and Sunday, vehicles may be tried in the morning and in the afternoon, between 11.00 and 20.00.

Those interested in trying the vehicles should make a reservation on the website www.electricgo.es. They only need to indicate the vehicle they would like to try, the day and the time. They can choose from seven different models: Audi A3 Etron, BMW i3, Hyundai IONIQ, Kia E-Niro, Mini Countryman, Nissan Leaf y Volkswagen E-Golf.

Furthermore, on Saturday 7, at 16.00, a caravan of electric vehicles will go around the city, and it may be joined by all electric car owners that wish to.

EDP will have a space in the Plaza del Marqués, where it will inform about its products and mobility services for individual customers and companies.

The energy company leads electric mobility in Asturias, where it has already installed more than 60 charging points in public spaces (www.edpmoveon.com). Gijón stands out, with 20 installations, which turn it into the reference city in the north of Spain in terms of electric mobility.

The use of this type of vehicles does not imply CO2 emissions, nor noise pollution. On the other hand, these vehicles’ efficiency is three times superior to the one of those with motor, and, regarding the prize of the charge, savings go up to 90% in comparison with the combustion engine vehicles.

This action frames within EDP’s commitment with sustainable mobility, as it is one of its priorities and one of the aspects that will impact the energy sector the most, which will be essential for the decarbonization of transport, representing a growing percentage of the cars’ sales around the world.
