Some of the world’s leading experts on the future of the planet and some of the most critical voices against climate change have come together on June 22 at the EDP Gran Vía Theater in Madrid. Amal Clooney, Adam Grant, Céline Cousteau and Peter Frankopan are some of the familiar faces that will star in the ‘We Choose Earth’ event.
EDP, a leading energy company in renewable energies, is organizing this global conference as part of its leadership in the energy transition, where it has made a commitment to be 100% green by 2030 and to fight climate change through the promotion of a movement to protect the planet. A movement in which leaders, organizations and society as a whole play a fundamental role.
Therefore, the company aims to create moments of in-depth debate and share strategic reflections on the future of the planet, the main energy and environmental adversities, and also on the countless opportunities presented by these challenges.
This is the first time that these personalities have come together at the same event, which will feature a program that combines debates and presentations on energy transition and climate change, as well as on the global vision of the latest advances and strategies in the field of sustainability.
Experts, innovators, scientists, artists, singers and world leaders will meet in Madrid to highlight the urgency of acting to save the planet.
The harmony and balance between human and environmental factors; the importance of equity, environmental justice and sustainability for society; the different dimensions for addressing the climate emergency; the need to act against the pollution of the oceans; the challenges and opportunities for companies in these fields, are some of the topics that will be addressed during the day on June 22.
The deadline for the purchase of tickets for all those who wish to come to experience this great event in first person has already begun (tickets available at EDP website). Because EDP believes that the energy transition must be fair and serve all communities, all money raised from ticket sales will go to different social organizations working on the environmental, social and energy transition fronts: ECODES, La España Azul and Ecomar.
