The EDP Foundation rekindles its commitment with music

Monday 29, May 2017

The commitment of the EDP Foundation with music and art will be once again manifested in September with ‘Siegfried’, a play that it will be sponsoring in the Theater Campoamor. It is the third part of ‘The Ring of the Nibelung’ of Richard Wagner. Since the launching of the Wagnerian performances, on September 2013 with ‘The Rheingold’, followed by ‘the Valkyrie’ on September 2015, and its coming consolidation on the beginning of the following season with Siegfried, Oviedo’s opera has counted with the collaboration of the EDP Foundation. With the launching of ‘The Ring of the Nibelung’ of Wagner in the Asturian capital, the EDP Foundation will be the main sponsor the following opera season in the Theater Campoamor.

Four seasons have passed since Oviedo’s Opera began an ambitious project that was an unfinished business for the second oldest opera cycle in Spain: the launching, for the first time in the Theater Campoamor and in 70 years, of the cycle ‘The Ring of the Nibelung’ of Richard Wagner. Since the beginning of the Wagnerian performances, in September 2013, with ‘The Rheingold’, followed by ‘the Valkyrie’ on September 2015, and its coming consolidation on the beginning of the following season with Siegfried, Oviedo’s opera has counted with the collaboration of the EDP Foundation, strong in its commitment with the culture of those territories where it is present.

EDP’s support to music will also be highlighted on the following 66th edition of the International Festival of Santander, that will take place this Summer in the Cantabrian community.
