EDP places Pedro Vasconcelos in charge of its business in Iberia and appoints him CEO of EDP Spain

EDP places Pedro Vasconcelos in charge of the Group in the Iberia region (Spain and Portugal) 

EDP appoints Pedro Vasconcelos head of the Group in the Iberia region and CEO of EDP Spain, as the company’s Board of Directors has ratified. He will substitute Ana Paula Marques, current worldwide manager of operations and maintenance of the Group’s generation assets.

This appointment is framed within EDP’s new structure, which is now organised around five regions (Iberia, North America, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Europe) and four platforms (renewable generation assets, electricity grids, customer solutions and energy management).

Pedro Vasconcelos joined EDP in 2007 and has been a member of EDP’s Executive Board of Directors since April 2023. Besides being responsible for the Iberia region, he is currently in charge of the group’s global energy management platform and a member of the EDP Renewables Board of Directors and of the Ocean Winds Board, EDPR’s offshore joint venture with Engie, since November 2021.

For the past two years he has been the CEO of the Asia-Pacific region, headquartered in Singapore, previously director of M&A and Business Development in EDP. Vasconcelos is an Aerospace Engineer by the Instituto Superior Técnico, Portugal, and MBA with Distinction by INSEAD (Singapore/France).
