- The EBITDA of EDP Spain has decreased by 3 % in 2016, reaching 500 million euros (M€). Without considering the positive effect in 2015, produced by the sales of gas distribution’s assets and of EDP Renováveis’ shares, the EBTIDA in 2016 would have increased by 17 %.
- The Net Profit (BDI) reached 438 M€, 27 % less than the previous year.
- The adopted strategic decisions, the focus on the operational efficiency of its generation park and the cost control in different activities, have enabled to reach these results, despite the difficulties of the environment.

- In electric distribution, Group EDP improved once again the quality of the service in the Spanish electric sector, with a historic record of Time of Interruption Equivalent to the Installed Power (TIEPI) of 24 minutes. The result has been possible thanks to the improvements introduced in the management and network technification and the important investment effort in its distribution network.
- In the development of Smart Grids, EDP finished 2016 with 503 772 smart meters installed, 78,4 % of its meters’ park, over the 70 % required by regulation. Moreover, it has installed more than 5 400 hubs, devices that enable a connection and transmission of data between meters and central services of the company.

- In 2016 a purchase of 5 % of Naturgas Energía, which belonged to the Ente Vasco de la Energía (EVE), was completed. With the acquisition of this parcel of shares, Group EDP obtained the 100 % of Naturgas Energía.
