Thursday 02, June 2016

EDP, through its electricity distribution company EDP Hc Energía, has installed 450,000 remotely managed counters, 86% of which are integrated into the company's Remote Management System. In addition, it has also installed 4,500 concentrators in transformation centers. These devices enable communications between the counters and the system. EDP Hc Energía will end 2016 with more than 500,000 installed counters, representing 80% of the company's counters in Spain. It will also reach 5,700 concentrators installed.

The customers that already have these new remotely managed counters can know their consumption per hour through the web www.edphcenergia.es/misconsumos, with the objective of being able to make an analysis of their consumption habits. This new web application is in constant evolution and development, and will soon broaden its functionalities.

Moreover, the information obtained of the consumption per hour allows the distribution company to make analysis and studies, aimed at improving the quality of service to consumers. The remote management allows the detection and resolution of incidences in the electric network in a quicker way, allowing the execution of operations in a remote way, without needing to make ground interventions.

With more than 20,000 km of electricity distribution network in Spain, EDP Hc Energía is present in Asturias, Madrid, Catalonia, Comunidad Valenciana and Aragón. In 2015 it obtained the best quality of electricity supply index in Spain (TIEPI index).
