EDP has marked, one more year, the beacons of the navigation channel of the beach of Palmones (Los Barrios, Cádiz) with regards to the bathing season. With this action, carried out following the national and European bylaw regarding the correct ordinance of the use of beaches, the energy company aims to ensure the security of beachgoers, from bathers till boat users. The bathing season will go on until September 10.
The mayor of Los Barrios, Miguel Alconchel, and the ministers of Beach and Tourism, José Antonio Gómez and Pablo García, as well as José Antonio García, director of the power plant of Los Barrios, and Sergio Pérez, from the area of Projects’ Acceleration of EDP, have visited the beach to supervise the security and first aid device, launched for the bathing season.
“In EDP we are happy to collaborate, one more year, in the opening of the bathing season of the beach of Palmones, a privileged environment that we all enjoy this time of the year”, highlighted José Antonio García during the visit. “We are proud of being able to contribute to the enjoyment and security of the beachgoers, as well as of reinforcing our commitment with the town of Los Barrios. We believe that this kind of support is the one making this a role model area, both for the neighbors and for tourism”, added the director of the power plant. The mayor Miguel Alconchel has highlighted that “the beach has once again a good image, all of it as a result of the public-private collaboration and the management of the municipality lead by José Antonio Gómez”.
It was in this same place that, last June, EDP carried out the inclusive activity ‘EDP Surf for Tomorrow’, that enabled forty youngsters of the Asansull Association and students of the educative center Casa de la Virgen to have a first contact with paddle surf and share a day of fun together in the water.
