Group Sovena partners with EDP to boost its energy savings
Self-consumption of energy will avoid the annual emission of 650 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.
Group Sovena takes a chance on energy saving through self-consumption. The company, world leader in agribusiness, has partnered with the energy company EDP, world leader in renewable energies, for its start up of a photovoltaic installation of self-consumption in its factory in Brenes, Seville, that will enable a boost of its energy saving.
The installation, that was just put into operation, has an output of 1,4 MWp, capable of capturing the sun energy to produce annually more than 2 100 MWh, the equivalent to the average annual consumption of more than 600 households.
The almost 3 500 modules that make up the installation, are distributed among eleven of the roofs that Sovena has in Brenes, where it bottles olive oil.
Self-consumption through this installation will reinforce, moreover, one of the strategic priorities of Group Sovena, its commitment with the environment’s protection. It will avoid the annual emission of 650 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere, a positive impact in the air quality equivalent to almost 50 000 new trees.
Self-consumption is one of the energy solutions with more saving potential, both for households and for companies and industries, which at the same time reinforces its competitivity in the market.
With this project, Group Sovena goes a step further in its goal of ensuring a sustainable future, reducing the impact of its activities through an efficient management of the energy.
