‘Passion for Knowledge’, science that is fun and accessible to everyone
EDP sponsors this festival, which starts on September 30 in San Sebastián
Science as the main axis, but also poetry or audiovisual creation have a place in ‘Passion for Knowledge’, the festival of knowledge which starts on September 30 in San Sebastián and is sponsored by EDP. Moreover, activities will also take place in the cities of Bilbao, Pamplona and Bergara. The initiative seeks to spread scientific culture in a simple and attractive way. Seven Nobel prizes and professors from the Oxford and Harvard Universities are the star guests this year. The event is organized by the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) investigation center.
The program includes several keynote lectures, meetings with high school students and workshops in collaboration with a hundred schools. Among other topics, the lecturers will talk about astrophysics, cosmology, quantum physics, botany and biomaterials, in a relaxed and entertaining tone. The activity with the highest demand is the Naukas Passion, in which the most popular figures of our country intervene. In addition, an exhibition called 'Creativium' will be inaugurated in the coming days, which invites to reflect on creativity from different points of view.
The organization estimates that this edition of the event will mobilize 10,000 people. Most of the activities are access-free although it is necessary to reserve a place in the event's official website.
