Gabriel Nebreda, director of EDP Solar, took part in a round table with two other sector’s experts

The 7th edition of Solar Forum, organized by the Spanish Solar Photovoltaic Association (UNEF) and developed in an online format, has addressed different aspects, like the role of photovoltaic energy in the economic reactivation, the self-consumption possibilities or the laws of climate change within autonomic communities, among other subjects.

Under the title “Photovoltaic energy as motor of economic recovery”, it has counted with the participation of the main experts of the photovoltaic and energy sectors. Moreover, the event’s opening was performed by Teresa Ribera, fourth-vice-president of the Government and minister of Energy Transition and Demographic Challenge, together with Rafael Benjumea, president of the Spanish Solar Photovoltaic Association. The closure, however, was organized by Ángel Torres, vice-president of the CNMC.

Gabriel Nebreda, EDP Solar Director, participated in one of the round tables: “The regulation opens new opportunities: collective self-consumption, photovoltaic communities and demand-aggregators.” ". He was joined by Carlota Pi, CEO, Holaluz; Carlos Martínez, Commercial Director Iberia, Russia-CIS and Emerging Markets, Goodwe; David San Miguel, Global Director, Amara-e Solar Distribution and Alicia Carrasco, Executive Director, ENTRA. The forum will be moderated by Lorena Farrás, from La Vanguardia.

During his intervention, Gabriel Nebreda assured that he trusted completely that Spain will be pioneer in a different business model and pointed out that “collective self-consumption today is possible. Nevertheless, it continues to be a disruptive, challenging and passionate project.” Moreover, he indicated that “if today, from 10 to 15 million households installed collective self-consumption, we would be reducing by 30% de electric demand in Spain.”

The Solar Forum, the biggest photovoltaic networking event of the peninsula, has focused on key aspects of the sector, like the potential that it has to become a motor of the reindustrialization and the economic recovery of the country.
