Planta fotovoltaica curva Murcia

DFM Logistics launches together with EDP the biggest curved photovoltaic plant in the region of Murcia

Friday 12, November 2021

A unique structure, special and new, that will allow the production of 422 MWh, equivalent to the medium annual consumption of 100 households.

The company specialized in groupage logistics and management of stock, DFM logistics, has inaugurated this Friday the biggest in curvature photovoltaic plant in the region of Murcia. This infrastructure, developed by the energy firm EDP, is located at the top part of the industrial units that the groupage and logistics company has in Sangonera la Seca. The photovoltaic plant has 310 kWp power and will be able to generate 422 MWh of solar energy within a year, which could supply the average annual consumption of 100 households.

Self-supply through this plant will avoid the annual emission of 130 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere. This will turn into a positive impact similar to the one that 10000 new trees and driving 2,5 million kilometers with an electric car would generate.

The installation counts on a system of monitorization of production and consumption that will allow, through an access in a web platform, control at every moment, and in real time, the state of the installation, see how much it produces, consult historic data or know the consumption reduction.

In the words of the general director of DFM Logistics, Juan Sánchez, this facility shows “a clear bet on sustainability and respect for the environment” on the part of the logistics firm and stock management. Additionally, he has wanted to thank both EDP Spain and Gestaner for their involvement “in a project for the future, in which all of our groups of interest are going to come out with benefits”.

For EDP Spain, as the director of sales Gustavo Álvarez Granda, points out, this project with DFM Logistics signifies a case of success and “reflects the close relationship with our business clients, along with our capacity to keep innovating and developing projects that contribute to promoting power saving, sustainability and competitivity of our clients, who benefit from the advantages that self-consumption offers since day one”.

Self-consumption is one of the energetic solutions with more potential for saving, both for households and companies and industries. Also, it has a positive impact and dynamizes the economy and employment. For the development of this project, DFM Logistics has counted on the services of the company of energy control of Murcia, Gestaner.
