Acquisition of local company enables development of wind, solar and storage energy projects. Australian market represents one of the greatest potentials in Asia-Pacific, a region where EDP Renováveis entered in 2022.

EDP ​​Ventures has 39 companies in its global portfolio already and invested EUR 14 million in the last year alone. Smart grid, solar energy and artificial intelligence projects are the top investments for accelerating the energy transition.  

During the final stage of the contest, held in the Cartuja Center CITE in Seville, a thousand children from nine Sevillian schools have presented their ideas for environmental protection

  EDP is one of the new investors in the US-based startup Captura, in a 21.5 million dollars funding round.  Direct Ocean Capture allows captured CO2 to be permanently stored or transformed into low emission fuel, thereby assisting the most challenging sectors in decarbonization.

International recognition as a Top Employer was reinforced this year in two more countries - Chile and Singapore - which are added to the nine in which EDP and EDP Renewables are present. The EDP Group received its first certification seven years ago.

This is the first hybrid in the country park that combines wind and solar energy at the same connection point. With this milestone, EDPR maintains its pioneering spirit in maximizing renewable energy production, as it was also the first company to commission the first hybrid projects in Portugal and Poland.
