  • EDP Spain receives the Top Employer certificate after applying for the first time

  • EDPR in Spain achieves this for the seventh year running

EDP has been recognised as one of the world’s best companies to work in in 2024. The certification, awarded by the Top Employer Institute, strengthens the group’s positioning in Portugal and, for the first time, in Spain and Brazil – and, in case of EDP Renewables, in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Poland, Romania, Greece, Brazil, Colombia and, also for the first time, in Chile and Singapore.

This certification, received for the seventh year running in the case of EDPR in Spain, has gradually expanded to the various markets in which the group operates, valuing their good practices in people management.

Receiving this distinction involves the analysis of 350 management practices, through which EDP was assessed in 20 different areas. The company achieved the highest score in the field of business strategy, ethics and integrity, and stood out in the fields of performance, work environment and sustainability. It also obtained an above-average score in the areas of diversity, equality and inclusion, and welfare, which reflects a commitment to guarantee a healthy, balanced and inclusive work environment.

EDP, with more than 13,000 employees, consolidates once more its global positioning as a first-choice employer and its commitment to an attractive work experience, which places people at the centre of its strategy.

The EDP group is committed to expand its workforce, reason why it is always looking for the best professionals to incorporate to its business areas. To achieve this goal, it develops programmes to attract talent. In addition, it is constantly promoting measures and initiatives that actively contribute to improving the work experience for its teams. It promotes a culture of development and actions that favour well-being, mental health, physical health and sustainable practices. These are some of the many actions that EDP carries out to create an environment that values and supports its employees.

Top Employer Institute is a global benchmark for recognising the best practices in people management, with more than 30 years of experience and having already certified more than 1,800 organizations around the world.

Obtaining this certification reflects EDP’s consistent commitment to building an increasingly more human, positive and impactful work environment, responding to new global trends and the personal and professional needs of an organisation for which people are its main source of energy.
