José Díaz's film will be screened at the BAFTA headquarters

Fundación EDP is sponsoring the premiere of the documentary "100 days of solitude" in London. Directed by and starring José Díaz, it will be screened on November 1 at BAFTA (London Piccadilly), as part of the sponsorship of Fundación EDP for sustainable development.

The iconic venue where the BAFTA awards are held each year is the venue chosen for the European premiere. The evening will include a talk with José Díaz and José María Morales, producer of Wanda Films, responsible for the film. The guests will also be able to enjoy a tasting of Asturian cuisine. Tickets are for sale here.

On this European premiere, Díaz affirmed that "it is a dream come true, not only because of the experience itself, but because this humble work is awakening consciences. Being in the Royal Academy, a place so emblematic, and that this film is projected as an example of how you can live in a much more respectful and friendly way with nature, is a privilege and an honor ". He also stressed that "this project is a humble tribute to simple life, honesty and love for life. Also to the inhabitants of Caleao, a tiny village of the Asturian mountain, and a brother lost years ago".

For the producer, José María Morales, "it is a pleasure and an honor to make the European premiere, after Spain, of my production 100 days of solitude at the prestigious BAFTA in London, thanks to the collaboration and effective initiative of Paul Lister del TENT -The European Nature Trust- and also have the support of Fundación EDP. I trust that this film and its BAFTA pass will contribute to making this wonderful corner of Asturias known in the United Kingdom, the Redes Natural Park, which is also a Biosphere Reserve". The producer of the documentary has underlined his satisfaction "because the funds raised with this Premier will go to the Brown Bear Foundation, which has been working for more than 25 years in the conservation of the Brown Bear in the North of Spain".

In 2015, Díaz was recorded over a hundred days in the Natural Park of Redes, in Asturias, with four cameras, while he lived in a cabin subsisting only on the nature that surrounded him.

In the documentary, Diaz is seen traveling through unique landscapes and also reflects on the protected flora and fauna of the Redes area. The piece shows a message about the possibility of living without technology in today's world, as a way of reflecting on modern civilization in a way that has connected with audiences in Asturias, Spain and, now, the United Kingdom. The trailer, subtitled in English, is available here.

The event is organized by The European Nature Trust (TENT) and all proceeds will go to the Brown Bear Foundation, as a means to protect the Cantabrian brown bear and restore its habitat.
