On Sunday, May 27 at 9:30, at the Parque de la Llera de Arriondas, the XV Mountain Race "Climb to Picu Pienzu" will begin. 200 participants will travel 21.5km on an amazing route, which climbs from the Asturian town of Arriondas to the summit of Picu Pienzu (with 1.160m, it is the highest peak in Europe in relation to the sea) and returns to the same place of departure, accumulating 2500m of uneven terrain. It goes through rural roads, trails, country, rocky technical areas and forests, until you reach the finish line, in the same place as the start.

Of its 200 participants, 20% are women. This was communicated by the organizers, members of the Picu Pienzu Mountain Group, within the framework of the presentation made at the City Hall of Arriondas. The Mountain Race Climb the Picu Pienzu or "Ascent to the Pienzu" is the veteran official race of the regional calendar of the FEMPA.
