Kaoutar Boulaid wins the EDP lf Marathon for Women

The second edition of the EDP Marathon for Women in Madrid and the 3 KM EDP Women's Genital Mutilation race have gathered 2,500 women from 40 countries in the Spanish capital. With the sponsorship of this event, the only female half marathon that takes place in Spain, EDP forces its commitment to women's sports.

The Moroccan athlete, Kaoutar Boulaid, was the winner in the distance of 21 kilometers, with a time of 1 hour, 12 minutes and 46 seconds. Viktoria Kalyuzhna and Naomi Nduta were second and third, respectively. The first Spanish woman in the finish line, and fifth in the overall, was Irene Pelayo (1:15:32).

The half marathon tour took participants through the most emblematic places of Madrid, from the Paseo del Prado to Matadero, passing through Cibeles, Colón, the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, the Puerta de Alcalá, Gran Vía, or the Royal Palace.

The winner of the 3 KM EDP Female Genital Mutilation race was Marta Molpeceres, from Madrid.

The day before the race, EDP present at the Corredora Fair, with the activities of "Todos a la maratón". In addition, the company had a space where the runners could personalize the shirt of the race with their name.

The platform that connects blind runners and guides, "Comparte Tu Energía", also had representatives in the race. Ana Lucia Santiago and María José Pinzón joined hands to complete the 21 kilometers of the race.
