On Tuesday, March 27, Gijón City Council presented the EDP Media Maratón Gijón “Villa de Jovellanos”, which already has a thousand registered racers and whose circuit, of 21,097 meters, is approved and included in the official racing calendar of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation for this new edition. This will allow official validity for all marks obtained in the race.

In the act, chaired by the director of the Municipal Sports Board, Roberto Fernández Álvarez, were the general director of Sports, Jose Ramón Tuero, and the director of Marketing, Brand and Communication of EDP, Carmen Fernández, among other representatives of sponsoring companies.

The 8th EDP Media Maratón Gijón "Villa de Jovellanos" has its inscriptions open at deporte.gijon.es, up to a limit of 2,600 numbers. The event will have as a meeting point the Sports Complex Las Mestas, wherein its covered module of athletics once again hosts the Runner's Fair, on April 27 and 28.

The runners can visit the Fair and register the children in the 7ª PequeMedia, the free children's race, as well as to pick up the runner's bag with a shirt and a backpack.
