A more sustainable World Tourism Congress

Triocar and EDP, with the collaboration of Mapfre, deliver 20 electric vehicles to the Ministry of Employment, Industry and Tourism of the Principality of Asturias

The Minister of Employment, Industry and Tourism, Isaac Pola; the general director of Mining and Energy, Belarmina Díaz; and the general director of Trade and Tourism, Julio González Zapico, have received the vehicles at the Hotel de la Reconquista by the CEO ofGrupo RESNOVA and Triocar manager, Rosa Martínez; the head of Asturias and Galicia of Mapfre, Javier Soto; the director of Smart Home of EDP ña, Antonio González-Lamuño; and the Head of Sustainable Mobility of EDP ña, Javier Izquierdo.

The vehicles will be used for the displacements that will take place these days during the Segunda Conferencia en Destinos Inteligentes de la Organización Mundial de Turismo de las Naciones Unidas(Second Conference on Intelligent Destinations of the World Tourism Organization of the United Nations).

This initiative, consisting of the transfer of 20 BMW i3 model, 100% electric, is promoted by the Regional Bureau for the Promotion of Electric Mobility of the Principality of Asturias.

To carry out the recharges, EDP delivered 20 sustainable mobility cards from the company to the council, so that they can use the quick point located at the Roces eco-station in Gijón, where they can recharge batteries in approximately 20 minutes.

The conference begins this Monday at 3:30 p.m. in the Príncipe Felipe Auditorium in Oviedo. For three days, the Asturian capital will be the world reference point in tourism. Participants will be responsible for the sector of companies, institutions and administrations of countries such as SRI Lanka, Paraguay, Chile, Mexico or Italy.
