This morning,the official presentation of the 1st Race Circuit "World Heritage Cities" was held, organized by the Group of World Heritage Cities of Spain in collaboration with EDP, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the network that brings together the 15 Spanish cities inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List: Alcalá de Henares, Ávila, Baeza, Cáceres, Córdoba, Cuenca, Ibiza / Eivissa, Mérida, Salamanca, San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Santiago de Compostela, Segovia, Tarragona, Toledo and Úbeda.

The Act,held in the City Hall of Segovia, was attended by the Mayor of Segovia, Clara Luquero,the director of Marca y Comunicación of EDP,Carmen Fernández,and the operating director and Parador de Segovia, Alberto Zerbini.

The main objective of the Circuit is to publicize the 15 World Heritage Cities through popular races and, in turn, encourage physical activity and sports, promoting the occupation of leisure time in one of the most common sports practices (and easier to carry out) as is running. The races that make up the 1st Race Circuit World Heritage Cities will take place throughout 2018 in the 15 cities that make up the aforementioned Group and will pass wholly or partially in the heritage zone of each city.

The 1st Circuit of Careers World Heritage Cities will be held from February 18, the day of the Monumental Race City of Segovia, until December 8, 2018, in which the Popular Race Eivissa Patrimoni de la Humanitat closes the series. The races cover distances that vary between 10 km to the Half Marathon, andit will be necessary to finish at least 5 out of 15to qualify for the final classification.

Each of the 15 races that make up the Circuit will be organized by different companies, clubs or town halls, entities responsible for their organization and for all related actions.
