The Food Bank of Asturias has collected more than 300 children’s food items from EDP employees. This delivery is the result of an initiative of collecting that was carried out in the energy company during the Christmas period.

Children’s food items, as pointed out by the president of the Food Bank of Asturias, Bernardo Sopeña, “are requested, specially, by families and organizations with dependent people, and this donation is thus a great help for our entity.”

Among the food items collected by the Food Bank, there is cereal baby food, baby milk, purée and dairy desserts.

It is the sixth consecutive year that the EDP employees take part in this initiative. Since then, they have collaborated with the delivery of more than 1 500 children’s food items to the Food Bank.

Moreover, this tight relationship also extends to the EDP Foundation, that funded in 2018 a new lighting system of the installations of the Food Bank of Asturias in Argame, Morcín. This project with LED technology enables the entity to reduce the lighting consumption by 80%.
