The EDP Foundation renews its commitment with the “Auditorium Concerts”
There will be 13 concerts with some of the best soloists and symphony orchestras across the world
The president of the Municipal Foundation of Culture of Oviedo’s Council, José Luis Costillas Gutiérrez, and the director of the EDP Foundation, Vanda Martins, have renewed the sponsorship agreement that aims to establish a collaboration framework between both entities for the support of symphonic concert cycles during the 2019/2020 season, organized by the Municipal Foundation of Culture of Oviedo’s Council in the Auditorium Príncipe Felipe (Prince Phillip’s Auditorium).
The EDP Foundation, that sponsors these symphony concerts since 2013, aims to reinforce Group EDP’s commitment in the areas where it operates, paying particular attention to the cultural field, among others.
The cycle “Auditorium Concerts” consists of 13 symphony concerts and makes available to the Asturian audience some of the best soloists and symphony orchestras across the world. Names like Sir Simon Rattle, James Conlon, Javier Camarena, Isabelle Faust, Jakub Orlinsky and orchestras like London Symphony, Ghent’s Orchestra and choir, Les Siècles from France and the RAI National Symphony Orchestra of Italy, will be together with Oviedo’s “Filarmonía”, that will present first-level- soloists, as well as Lucas Macías’ debut in the cycle as principal conductor.
The cycle begins on Saturday, October 26, with Oviedo’s Filarmonía, under the direction of its chief, Lucas Macías, and end on May 24 with Verdi's Requiem Mass.
Until October 27 separate tickets may be acquired for this cycle and for the Piano Days, which entail a twenty percent discount off the price of single tickets.
