EDP hands in the “We chose Earth” manifesto with messages from more than 800 children to the director of the IDAE in SPIREC 2023
The action took place the third day of the Spanish International Renewable Energy Conference, SPIREC 2023
Joan Groizard, IDAE director (Spanish Institute for Diversification and Energy Saving), has received from Javier Martínez, sustainable mobility director of EDP Spain, and Gabriel Nebreda, director of EDP Solar, the manifesto with suggestions from the children that took part in the “We choose Earth” contest. It was handed in on the third day of the Spanish International Renewable Energy Conference, SPIREC 2023.
The manifesto from the little ones with messages aiming to look after the planet, was presented on February 17, during the final phase of the contest “We choose Earth”, held on the EDP Theater Gran Vía, that gathered more than 800 children.
Students from more than 15 schools were the leaders of a day that aimed to find commitment among the young in terms of sustainability, contributing thus to a correct energy transition. The school Ponce de León, center committed with the inclusion of deaf pupils, became the winner of the contest.
All those present in the theater had the opportunity to collaborate and do their bit in the drafting of the manifesto, that collects the children’s main petitions in order to improve the planet. It was handed in in the SPIREC 2023, that took place in Madrid between February 20 and 23.
