EDP joins the 2nd Race Circuit “World Heritage Cities”
The main goal of the Circuit is to make the 15 World Heritage Cities known through popular races
Mérida has hosted the presentation of the 2nd Circuit Race “World Heritage Cities”, activity organized by the Program of Spanish World’s Heritage Cities, in collaboration with EDP and Paradores. The 15 Spanish cities registered on the list of UNESCO’s World Heritage participate: Alcalá de Henares, Ávila, Baeza, Cáceres, Córdoba, Cuenca, Ibiza/Eivissa, Mérida, Salamanca, San Cristóbal de la Laguna, Santiago de Compostela, Segovia, Tarragona, Toledo and Úbeda.
The act, celebrated in Mérida’s city hall, was attended by Antonio Rodríguez Osuna, mayor of Mérida; José Luis Blázquez, responsible of the center area of EDP; and Daniel de Lamo, director of the Parador de Mérida.
The main goal of the Circuit is to make the 15 World Heritage Cities known through popular races, while promoting physical and sportive activity, and favoring the practice of one of the most common and easy sport activities in the leisure time.
During his intervention, Blázquez has highlighted the EDP Prize: a year of 100 % renewable energy for the first runners to obtain the best punctuation and to participate in at least five races , both in male and female categories.
