One of the main objectives of the EDP id Women's Half Marathon is to massively incorporate women into long-distance races and encourage healthy and sporting habits among adult women. On this subject, Javier Sáenz de Jubera, corporate and commercial general director of EDP ña, stressed that "when I go out to run outside Spain, I see how the number of women is higher than that of men, and also much younger than here . For EDP, this is a way to significantly support women's sport. The goal is to reach the same levels of female participation as in the United States, where the percentage is close to 50%. " He also said he expects his company to "continue to support this cause for many years."

The EDP n's Half Marathon in Madrid is organized by Sport Life with Komodo Comunicación, in collaboration with the Madrid City Council and will be included in the International Calendar of Real Federación Española de Atletismo (the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation). Participants can choose the solidarity project which they want to support. The organization kicks off donations with 5,000 euros that are divided among the five chosen causes: Fundación Cris contra el cáncer, Médicos sin Fronteras, Banco de Alimentos, Mundo Cooperante y Clara Campoamor. The Food Bank (Banco de Alimentos) organizes a campaign of food collection within the Feria de la Corredora of EDP n's Half Marathon.
