From June 28 to September 10, EDP opened the deadline for submitting applications for the EDP Open Innovation award. It's an acceleration program for the development of new business projects focused on technological innovation or innovation of business models in the energy sector, in the field of clean technologies.

This year will be the perfect occasion for companies to enjoy the benefits of this experience, since applications may come from anywhere in the world. The jury will be composed of members from three key countries in which EDP is present: Portugal, Spain and Brazil.

A jury will select 10 startups that will go to Lisbon for 9 days in October to attend an intensive workshop in which they will develop their proposals for collaboration with EDP. Finally, on October 30, the 10 selected startups will present their proposals and the jury will select a winner.

The best team will get a prize of 50,000 euros, and the three best will have the opportunity to be present at the Web Summit, the largest international event of technology and entrepreneurship. In addition to these awards, startups aligned with the strategy and business of EDP will be invited to participate in the EDP Starter, the ecosystem of startups that are taking their first steps as suppliers or partners of the EDP Group.
