Friday 17, May 2024

The energy company’s program has helped boost 57 projects with more than 600,000 euros, thus creating more than 100 direct jobs

ENTAMA, a program created by EDP to promote equal opportunities, social inclusion and environmental commitment, has selected fifteen socially and regionally oriented projects to support and finance in its fifth edition. This new installment stands out for its particular interest in projects led by women or with the potential to boost female employment.

This program supports initiatives with a high potential in the regions where the energy company operates. These projects tackle a wide range of areas, from the promotion of local resources and handmade products to the development of sustainable tourism. In addition, it supports digitalization, innovation, the creation of services in areas at risk of depopulation, and projects that foster local employment, more sustainable supply networks, as well as female entrepreneurship and social inclusion.

In previous editions, the ENTAMA program has successfully pushed forward 57 projects. In this new edition, 15 initiatives have been chosen, 80% of them led by women, and all based in the regions of Asturias, Cantabria, Córdoba (Valle del Guadiato) and Cádiz (Los Barrios).

ENTAMA stands out as EDP’s project with the highest impact on its local communities, an achievement that has been recognized with an award from the United Nations Global Compact for its contribution to the SDG 11 of “Sustainable Communities”.
