Ferroli collaborating with Energía Solidaria

The agreement will improve energy efficiency of centers and homes selected by Cáritas and Cruz Roja in the Basque Country, Cantabria, Asturias, Galicia and Madrid

The manufacturer and marketer of heating and air conditioning solutions, Ferroli, has reached a collaboration agreement with Fundación EDP to develop the 'Solidarity Energy' (Energia Solidaria) initiative. The agreement consists of the supply of boilers and heaters, under advantageous economic conditions for the Foundation, which will allow the improvement of energy efficiency of Cáritas and Cruz Roja centers, and in housing selected by them.

The agreement was signed by Víctor Gómez Álvarez, Managing Director of Ferroli Spain and Portugal, and by the executive director of the EDP andation, Vanda Martins, at the headquarters of the energy company in Madrid. Both highlighted the importance of this collaboration, which will reach centers and homes in Madrid, Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria and the Basque Country. Ferroli will supply equipment with discounts of up to 60%.

The first installation was carried out in Bilbao, in the Elurra de Cáritas center. Here, Fundación EDP alled a new boiler supplied by the Ferroli production center in Burgos. The installation of this equipment will reduce the consumption of natural gas between 10% and 15% each year.

To implement this type of measures, Cáritas and Cruz Roja carry out the selection of centers and homes. Fundación EDP, for its part, carries out a complete energy audit to identify the different measures that can be implemented and executed.

Fundación EDP llocating 165,000 euros to 'Energía Solidaria' this year. Through different energy improvement actions, it collaborates with Cáritas and Cruz Roja to implement efficient measures in centers and homes of families in situations of vulnerability, improve the security of electrical installations and train on energy efficiency habits.

Since its launch in 2015, Fundación EDP allocated more than 425,000 euros to 'Energía Solidaria', which improved the quality of life of more than 5,600 people.
