Fundación EDP renews its support for the Santander International Festival

The company maintains its commitment by supporting the symphonic gathering with the RTVE Symphony Orchestra, with pianist Barry Douglas

Fundación EDP wed the collaboration agreement that it maintained for several years with the Santander International Festival and that allows, on this occasion, the celebration of the inaugural concert with the RTVE Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Miguel Ángel Gómez Martínez, next to the pianist Barry Douglas.

The executive director of Fundación Festival Internacional de Santander, Valentina Granados, and the director of Resources and Institutional Relations of EDP pain, Rafael Careaga, signed the agreement that reaffirms once again, the commitment that the energy company has with the Festival , thus demonstrating its support for one of the most outstanding cultural events of the summer.

The concert will be held on Wednesday, August 1, at 8:30 p.m., in the Sala Argenta of the Festival Palace of Cantabria. The public will listen to the Concerto n.3 for piano and orchestra of Beethoven and the Symphony n. 4 by Tchaikovsky. The day is celebrated in collaboration with the International Piano Competition of Santander Paloma O'Shea, contest in which Barry Douglas triumphed in 1980, at the beginning of his musical career.

Having the support of private companies helps us achieve some of our main objectives, such as attracting new audiences or making the Festival grow and become more ambitious", says Valentina Granados.

Fundación EDP firms with the renewal of this agreement its commitment to one of the most important cultural events in Cantabria, as well as to the Cantabrian region itself, which is one of its main areas of influence.
