Martín Fiz, sponsor of the 9th EDP Half Marathon Gijón Villa de Jovellanos
The race will be held on Saturday, May 4, and the inscription deadline is open until April 30, or until the 2 500 inscriptions are full
The town hall of Gijón hosted yesterday the official presentation of the 9th EDP Half Marahon “Villa de Jovellanos” and counted with a special figure: the world’s marathon champion, and recent Spain marathon record for people over 55-years-old in Paris, Martín Fiz. He is the sponsor of the race and the ambassador of the project Share your energy. He was also joined by the councilor of Sports of Gijón, Jesús Martínez; the director of Brand and Communication of EDP Spain, Carmen Fernández, and other entities collaborating in the race.
The route, approved by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation, consists of a 21 097 meters circuit, starting and ending in the Municipal Sporting Center Las Mestas, being plain, and with few turns. The race is part of the official race calendar of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation.
As a novelty this year, all participants crossing the finish line will receive a finisher medal.
The inscription deadline is open until April 30, or until the 2 500 inscriptions are full, and, currently, around 1 200 athletes signed up.
