EDP Live Bands already has its finalists. 9 bands will be on stage at the Barceló Theater in Madrid on June 9 and get a chance to win the contest. The bands, selected both by popular vote and by a jury of experts, come from the Valencian Community, the Basque Country, Asturias, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia and Madrid.

In the final, each band will perform two original songs live. At least one of them will have been submitted to the contest. The prizes for the winning band will be to perform live at the Festival NOS Alive, at four Fnac centers in Spain and to record their first album.

Out of the finalists, 6 were selected by the jury and 3 by the votes of the public on the website of the contest, edplivebands.edp.com.

The EDP Live Bands is a musical contest aimed at bands of all musical genres, without commercial links to record labels. This first spanish edition counted with more than 340 bands with an original song presented to the contest.

This is the first year that the initiative lands in Spain, after the successes achieved in Portugal, where it's been celebrated since 2014, and in Brazil, since 2016. Since its launch, the initiative envolved more than 4,200 bands, boosting their musical career with the recording of an album and with performances in festivals of great international projection.
