‘Patrimoniu industrial’ will document the historical value of EDP's power plants
The digital platform patrimoniuindustrial.com has the support of the EDP Foundation
To portray heritage sites combining cinematographic treatment and historical rigor. That is the aim of the digital platform patrimoniuindustrial.com, which was presented on Monday, July 8 at the Milan Campus of the University of Oviedo. The project has the support of 16 public and private institutions, among which the EDP Foundation stands out. EDP will be represented in this multimedia report with audiovisual files of its hydroelectric and thermal power plants, among other facilities.
The rector of the University of Oviedo, Santiago García Granda, and the council of Employment, Industry and Tourism of the Government of the Principality of Asturias, Isaac Pola, have presided the presentation of this project, directed by the Asturian filmmaker Marcos M. Merino through the producer Freews.
The patrimoniuindustrial.com platform will initially broadcast more than 300 audiovisual files that portray heritage sites combining cinematographic treatment and historical rigor. The web also includes introductory texts from 18 researchers and more than 1,000 milestones in the industrial history of the Principality of Asturias. In the graphic section, you will find photographs, location maps and more than a hundred videos with testimonies of workers, which preserve the oral memory and glossaries of the different industrial sectors.
The aim of the project is to continue incorporating pieces of the Asturian legacy until reaching 500 heritage resources portrayed audiovisually before the end of the year. This approach comes to light after more than two years of work by a team of 30 professionals from the fields of industrial heritage, cinema, photography, art history, architecture, design, web programming, journalism and marketing.
