The Food Bank of Asturias has collected more than 200 children’s food items in the headquarters of EDP in Oviedo. This action responds to the nitiative of collecting that was carried out in the energy company during the Christmas period. Each person received one invitation to take part in a children’s event per food delivered.

Children’s food items, as pointed out by one of the responsible of the Food Bank of Asturias, María Velasco, “are one of the biggest needs of the Bank, because, apart from not being perishable, they answer to one of the basic bases of the children’s feeding.” By delivering them, the organization will look after vulnerable families and collectives in risk of exclusion.

This initiative, that the employees carry out for the second year in a row, ads to the Christmas campaign developed by the customers of the company, within the loyalty program of EDP. Through this campaign, the company delivered more than 80 000 euros to the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (FESBAL by its initials in Spanish).
