The EDP Foundation supports scientific talent
On May 28 it will collaborate with the seminar “Inspiring Women in Science”, that will take place in Gijón
The EDP Foundation supports the event “Inspiring Women in Science”, that will be held on May 28 in Gijón’s Conference Center, within the framework of the 10th International Congress about Magnetic Nanoparticles. This project aims to spread the role of women scientists, dismiss stereotypes and awake vocations in order to increase the feminine presence in science. As stated by the organization of the event, “more girls are needed to feel scientific vocation, and for that, the figure of women in science needs to be perceived as natural by society.” This is one of the main ideas that this initiative wants to transmit, aiming to promote scientific talent and inspire new generations. The event, organized by the University of Oviedo, will count with the participation of distinguished women scientists, that will explain the reason that took them to focus their careers on science, their experiences and their suggestions to increase the presence of women in this field. Apart from these participants, representatives of collectives and institutions of the region will also attend.
