One more year, the energy company EDP has opened a call for applications and project submissions for the new ENTAMA edition, a program to promote employment creation on terms of equal opportunities and inclusion, environment, commitment with the local community, promotion of the municipality’s development and battle against rural depopulation, which had been taken place till the moment in this community, and now opens up to other areas of the country’s territory.

ENTAMA’s 4th edition brings great innovations. After the 25 projects assigned in Asturias so far, this 2022-2023 edition, support will be provided to entrepreneurships that generate wealth and employment in municipalities, with an overall limit of 20 000 euros per project, surpassing the 400 000 euros of the total investments in all the areas where it will be developed.

ENTAMA strengthens thus its commitment with the Asturian community, reinforcing entrepreneurs in the social and territorial environment of EDP in the region. Furthermore, it will place a particular emphasis on women-lead projects and with female employability potential, as one of the demands collected by socio-demographic and local perception studies carried out by the company.

Apart from growing in Asturias, ENTAMA is spreading this year to Cantabria, Lugo, Cordova, and Cadiz, where EDP is also active.

The application submission deadline will be September 9, and the projects selected by the jury, in which viability, sustainability and territory impact will prevail, will be developed in 2023.

In previous editions, ENTAMA already helped to the achievement of a touristic train, propelled by a low-emission tractor, unique in Spain, to access the area of Redes Natural Park; as well was to the development of a natural coworking space; food projects that recover traditional products like cheese, honey or blueberries, and others more innovative, such as birch sap; and activities to support sustainable tourism or a digital platform for livestock trading, among others.

ENTAMA is a program to support entrepreneurship and employability in EDP’s Suma+ strategic program. It is carried out within the strategy and sustainability framework from the EDP’s group, where ESG’s excellence (environmental, social and of good administration) is the cornerstone.

The fundamentals are available on EDP Spain’s corporative website and on ENTAMA’s own web (https://www.comunidadENTAMA.com/). On this last website, a private area has been created, in which all the candidates may upload their suggestions, and where another area will be available to generate synergy among the “ENTAMAtors”, so that they can make the project grow through their collaborations.
